CarbonMe has agreements with a range of Tree planting organizations around the world and have so far sponsored trees in Honduras, the Philippines, Indonesia, Panama, Haiti and Ethiopia. We deal with organizations planting around 1 million trees every month and have the capability of planting millions more, restricted only by funding.

CarbonMe focuses on community based projects, where the tree benefits are orientated around the needs of the local communities. The seedlings are often planted on the land of individual families so that they can support their own sustainable incomes.

Locations and types of trees within nurseries will vary depending on fulfilling the maximum benefits considering the time of year, quantities sponsored, climate variations, water supply, availability of seeds and, demand from villagers for crops, nutrition, shelter, fire wood, grazing crops, soil erosion, sunlight protection, aquifer support etc

Ethiopia
One of our main focuses lies around Wolkite Town in Ethiopia, where working with Greener Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Government a target has been put in place to plant 100million trees over the next 5 years. Positioned by the mountains on the locally named Omo river, running to Lake Rudolph on the border of Ethiopia and Kenya, the Wabe River Basin includes over 100km of watershed area desperately in need of trees on the river bank to prevent so much soil erosion. Ethiopia loses approximately 2 billion tons of topsoil every year, eventually ending up in the River Nile system.
